Fiji Airways joins the likes of Qantas, Virgin Australia and South African Airways and rolls out a bidding system for last minute upgrades.
Bula Bid upgrade launched this month to give travellers the opportunity to digitally and economically fight-it-out for extra legroom.
To take part in the online auction, Economy Class ticket holders need to visit the bulabid.com, locate the ‘Upgrade Now’ auction system and enter their bid.
Bidding starts seven days prior to the flight and ends 24 hours before departure.
Successful bidders are notified with a confirmation email 24 hours before the flight and unsuccessful bidders will not have their credit card charged.
As part of the upgrade, guests will receive access to Fiji Airways’ premium Business Class product featuring extra baggage allowance, lie-flat leather beds, three-course meals and a wide range of entertainment.
Managing Director & Chief Executive Andre Viljoen, said “Bula Bid received high demand among guests during its soft launch period” and he is delighted to launch it across the carrier’s international network.
“The successful bids are dependent on a number of factors including seat availability and the number and amount of offers for the flight,” he explained.
“Naturally, the bids are subject to terms and conditions, and a number of back-end factors managed by the team at Fiji Airways.”
